Infinitus Establishes Three New Scientific Research Platforms to Facilitate Its Product Innovation
Release Time: 2016-07-19

Infinitus (China) Company Ltd., a member of LKK Health Products Group, in association with the National Resource Centre for Chinese Materia Medica of the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, established the Joint Laboratory for the Research of Chinese Herbal Quality - China Academy of Chinese Medical Science's National Resource Centre for Chinese Materia Medica and Infinitus (hereinafter referred to as "the Joint Lab for The research of Chinese Herbal Quality") in Beijing, on 19 July. This is the second joint laboratory Infinitus has set up with authoritative institutions in 2016 after the establishment of the Joint Laboratory for the research of Functional Lipids - Oil Crops Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Infinitus (hereinafter referred to as "the Joint Laboratory for The research of Functional Lipids") this May. Including the Joint Laboratory for the Research of Modern Preparation Technology - Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Infinitus to be founded later this year, Infinitus has three new scientific platforms throughout 2016, which reinforce its scientific research capacity consisting of one R&D center and multiple scientific research platforms.

Selecting the most genuine traditional Chinese herbs requires scientific research undertaken by specialized institutions which can thoroughly understand and take control of the impact of location, climate, season, as well as other factors, on the effectiveness of authentic Chinese herbs. The Joint Lab for the Research of Chinese Herbal Quality, as its name implies, conducts research into the authenticity of Chinese herbs, interactions between the active ingredients in Chinese herbs and the healthcare benefits that are provided, as well as the distribution pattern of Chinese herbal resources and safety evaluation, among other areas of concern. The purpose of the research is to guarantee the quality of Chinese herbal medicine from the origin, with the ultimate goal of delivering high-quality Chinese herbal health products to consumers.

Apart from the above, the Joint Laboratory for the Research of Functional Lipids is dedicated to research into the production technology of functional lipids, the ability to produce the product in commercially viable quantities and an efficacy evaluation, with a pronounced focus on developing functional lipids products that prevent modern chronic diseases and metabolic disorders. When lipids are mentioned, people usually relate it to the concepts of "oily" and "weight loss". In fact, functional lipids are active substances that provide health benefits to the human body. The lipids have a positive function in preventing hypertension, heart disease, cancer, diabetes and other diseases. Many drug-and-food-homologous Chinese medicinal herbs contain rich functional lipids, such as walnuts, fructus cannabis, perilla frutescens seeds, as well as others. The well-known functional lipids, Omega 3 unsaturated fatty acid, are capable of preventing and alleviating multiple chronic health issues.

Mr. Harry Yeung, Senior Vice President of LKK Health Products Group, indicated, "In the past two decades, Infinitus has been dedicated to promoting innovations and building up its capabilities in terms of research and development, due to the importance of the role that R&D plays in the development of effective products. The National Resource Centre for Chinese Materia Medica of the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences and the Oil Crops Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences are both national scientific and research institutes, further strengthening the scientific research abilities of Infinitus".

Entering 2016, Infinitus has made quite a few moves in terms of scientific research and development. This April, research work started in the new building housing the Infinitus R&D Center in Guangzhou, China. The new 10,000-square meter building, on the back of an investment close to RMB 50 million, contains multi-functional laboratories including a sensory evaluation room, a functional food laboratory, a home product R&D room, a water purification research and development room, a makeup powder R&D room and a sleep technology R&D room. The newly upgraded R&D center will focus on developing global products, collaborating with scientific research institutes and experts worldwide and conducting cutting-edge scientific and technology research across the health products sector.

The top-notch R&D work provides a solid foundation for innovative products. This June, Infinitus took its new product, Infinitus Xin Yan Herbal Drink, to INPEX in Pittsburgh, U.S. and won the only Innovators Cup of the event. Along with the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva in Switzerland and the iENA Inventors' Trade Fair in Nuremberg, Germany, the three events are considered the world's leading invention exhibitions and their awards are seen as the "Academy Awards" of the invention world.

Osmanthus fragrans powder, the signature ingredient of Infinitus Xin Yan Herbal Drink, had not, prior to now, been systematically studied and applied in health products domestically or internationally. In addition, the concentrated olive juice freeze-dried powder (HIDROX) contained in the Infinitus Xin Yan Herbal Drink is produced in the Infintius & CreAgri Organic Olive Ranch (USA) that was co-founded by Infinitus and US-based CreAgri Inc. in April, and is the only olive-based ingredient that has received a safety certification from the FDA (GRAS certification). The organic olive ranch is also Infinitus' first overseas cooperative cultivation facility.
